The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (12/52)

Generally, I am not intrigued by books about magic or fantastical settings, etc. However, after multiple friends read this book and strongly recommended it, I decided to give it a try. It was completely compelling. The richness of description and the expansive imagination that Morgenstern demonstrates is definitely worth the read. The book is about two magicians bound to a mysterious challenge that takes place at a circus that takes on a mythical setting. Told from multiple perspectives, Morgenstern plays with the sense of being an insider and an outsider, pointing us to the fact that everyone thinks of themselves as an outsider which makes us all part of something. Great read!
