String of Beads by Thomas Perry (25/52)

Another book in the Jane Whitefield series, so again we find people in need to be hidden. Although this book follows the same trajectory of his others, Perry understands how to get the heart rate up and lead you down wrong alleyways. Knowing full well Jane will escape the danger, you still question the circumstance. Perry’s ability to connect human frailty to the spirit of nature embodied in the protagonist’s Seneca roots makes for a captivating story. An excellent summer read.
