State of the Union by Nick Hornby

Seeing the evolution of a marriage in crisis through ten specific moments is brilliant. The conceit of a weekly pre-therapy meeting in the pub across the street is brilliant, quirky and yet, reveals the nuances of a relationship in turmoil. I devoured it for the humour and for the commentary on love and commitment. Hornby never fails to hit the right notes. Loved it. Highly recommended.
