Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town by Jon Krakauer (8/52)

Over 100 assaults are reported and a scant few go to trial, especially when student athletes are involved. Krakauer uses the city of Missoula, the University of Montana and their touted Grizzlies football team as an avenue of looking at rape and the criminal justice system. The statistics and the difficulties are devastating. The book is fascinating as it takes you inside a culture of permission, excuse and injustice. Excellent book, though the details of some of the crimes was difficult.
