Less by Andrew Sean Greer

As a winner of the Pulitzer Prize, I had serious expectations. It was, unfortunately, very tough to get into. However, once I figured out the character and the absurd plotline, I enjoyed the book thoroughly. Less’ insistence to be far away for the wedding of his ex gives a perfect excuse for an Eat, Pray, Love style self-reflection. The humour in the book was at times slapstick and other times sweet, but throughout I felt comforted in knowing that Less was damaged, not mean. Good read. Recommended.
