Hit The Ground Running by Alison Hughes (21/52)

When Dee (16) is stuck fending for herself and her little brother Eddie, the pressure of foster homes is all a little too real. And so, they take to the road from Arizona to the sweet freedom of Canada. Driving there becomes a whirlwind of adventure and happenstance. Although the ending feels abrupt, the bond between siblings feels endless and strong. I love the dynamic between Dee and Eddie. It was a quick and easy read and well worth the time.
